I highly recommend not to use the build-in sound card in the MacBook Pro but to use an external USB or even better Thunderbolt interface. This will allow you to reduce latency below 10ms. I could write here a lot about latency, it influence factors and what might help to decrease it but there are already a lot of threads here in the forum that discuss this in detail.
